新厂牌 Scandal 发行首张本土女性电子制作人合辑《述情障碍》

正如其他有意思的行业和领域一样，女DJ、女制作人是真的很少。上海派对厂牌 Scandal 以2020-2021年间发生在上海的200余场活动信息（非商业大型俱乐部/ 阵容等于或大于四人）作为样本得出的数据：
约34.5%的活动阵容中，有两位及以上的女性音乐人；
约36%的活动阵容中，有一位女性音乐人的参与；
约30%的活动阵容中，无女性音乐人参与；
在所有的活动中，女性音乐人约占总数的27%，男性音乐人约占据总数的72%。女性与男性比例约为2:5；
也就是说，每当出现五位男性音乐人时，仅有两位女性音乐人在场。
自疫情以来的近两年，女性在非商业音乐场景的可见度降低了许多，它背后的原因是什么？
联合国在2020年底发布的性别报告显示，面对疫情的冲击，女性面临更重的家务与照料工作，也面临更多失去工作和教育机会的风险。大环境的变化，正在影响小众群体。非商业俱乐部场景中，大多数参与者们视音乐为副业或爱好，他们同时拥有其他社会身份或职业。当身为“斜杠青年”的女性面对更大的社会压力时，很可能因为难以兼顾这一份创意工作而搁置，加之场景和社会缺乏对于女性的系统性支持，许多个独有潜力的她，就此消失在了视野中。
在此种情况下，Scandal 联合八位本土女性制作人，在2022年1月推出首张合辑《Scandal: Alexithymia 述情障碍》并宣告厂牌成立。她们也将延续在此之前组织派对的目标：致力于推动女性在音乐场景中的能见度和参与度。
Alexithymia 一词来源于古希腊语。“a-” “léxis” “thymós” 分别译作“不”， “言 语”，“情感”。依照字面，本词意为“情感无言、冷酷无情”。在心理学范畴中，则为“述 情障碍”—— 一种在生活中无法感知和表述情感的人格特质。
合辑意在用声音，记录当下原子化和割裂的社会氛围，以及我们如何通过声音的制造，来创建全新的情感表达通路。在网络及现实空间中，述情障碍已 然无处不在，它的成因可能是新冠造成的社交距离，或政治、社会和身份认同等问题上的迥 异取向，或是一些无从谈论的原因。我们也曾缄默以回避外界冲突，勉力维系薄弱的平和， 却从未停止在卧室中编织着自己的“声音语言”。简而言之，在这个情感难言的世界上，我 们比任何一个时代更需要对于音乐的阐发。
1月7日，Scandal 落地上海 All 俱乐部举办发行派对。
Like many interesting jobs & fields, there really aren’t many female DJs, female producers. How few? Without any research studies examining this situation, Shanghai promoter Scandal decided to do an analysis based on a sample of 200 Shanghai club events from 2020-2021 (non-commercial/with lineups of four or more people). The analysis resulted in these figures:
34.5% of event lineups included two or more female musicians.
36% of event lineups included one female musician.
30% of event lineups included no female musicians.
In all events, female musicians accounted for about 27% of the total;
male musicians accounted for about 72% of the total.
The ratio of women to men is about 2:5,
In other words, whenever there are five male musicians, only two female musicians are present.
In such situation, Scandal has gathered together eight local female producers to launch its debut compilation “Scandal: Alexithymia 述情障碍” in January of 2022. This release will also officially mark the establishment of the Scandal label. We will also continue to achieve our goal: help more women to show-up in the scene.
The term Alexithymia is a classical compound combining the ancient Greek words “a-” “léxis” “thymós”, respectively translated as "no" "speech" "emotion". Taken literally, the term means “silent and ruthless”. In the field of psychiatry, alexithymia is a personality trait characterized by the inability to perceive and express emotions in daily life.
“Scandal: Alexithymia 述情障碍” intends to reflect on the current atmosphere of atomization and fragmentation in our society, inviting eight local female producers to demonstrate how they express this emotional blockage through their music. At present, alexithymia is ubiquitous, exacerbated by coronavirus social distancing, an increasingly polarized political landscape when it comes to social and identity-based issues, or other reasons we’re unable to discuss. In a world where we can’t speak to our emotions, we need the interpretive power of music more than ever.

Laughing Ears is an electronic music artist who currently lives in Shanghai. Her music is a knack for blending otherworldly atmospherics with heavy basslines that explore space, melody and rhythm to create complex yet tranquil productions to get lost in.
After her debut 12" Vinyl album ‘Tidal Effects’on Ran Music and EP ‘Shame’on Functionlab, Last year two releases with international labels Decisions (out of Melbourne) and Chinabot (London) showcasing the shape-shifting artist’s range and command of atmosphere. While Metamorphosis is driven by ‘fragmented ambient synths carefully woven together with dark footwork-inspired beats’, the subsequent Blue Dusk finds the artist kicking things into higher gear, riding pulsing percussion and buzzing bass with razor-sharp psychedelic sound design, creating a sound that may have been born on the dance floor but has veered superbly off-course into ‘uncharted territories’, which unchanged is the the Dark, Hybrid and Cult-feel mystery.
Laughing Ears kicks off 2021 with album ‘Blood’ via club music vanguards Infinite Machine. Blood consists of 10 tracks that highlight Laughing Ears’s knack for building otherworldly atmospherics within club-ready, dance music structures. Mei (aka Temple Rat) is a Dj and music producer from Shanghai. Her music uses unique sound samples of natural environments. By combining the tranquility of Ambient tunes with ACID beats of the 90s and fierce drums she constructs a unique sound mixing modern vibes and ancient oriental rhythms. Mei has been exploring and expanding the many possibilities of music and sound creating this energy into a rhythm turning the dance floor into a frenzy.
Mei released her Erhu ambient album Spring Dawn on Tokyo’s Kagerou Records and her latest works have been featured on Hong Kong’s FUFU Records Double Happiness 2021 edition as well as on Bangkok's Siamese Twins Records Katha compilation.
So far her musical career has brought her to cities all over China, Japan, Cambodia, Vietnam, HongKong, Macau, and major European festivals like the Château Perché Festival (France), the Summer Story Festival (Spain), the ADE (Netherlands), Carnival Bizarre at KitKat Club Berlin, and the Boiler Room Shanghai edition. Her sets have been played on Block FM Tokyo, Red Light Radio Amsterdam, NTS Radio Shanghai, SHCR Shanghai and Germany's WDR COSMO Radio.

Shii is a Chengdu indie electronic artists currently residing in Wuhan, China. She injects a much needed dose of femininity and sensitivity to the increasingly macho Chinese electronic music scene. Shii’s production draws elements from IDM, synth-pop and dream-pop, merging them into catchy, fluent melodies.
Shii signed with Beijing label Merrie Records in early 2019, and her debut Floating Signifiers and EP record "Duration" were released in July and November 2019. In 2020, Shii released critically acclaimed singles "Scenery" "Maman" and "Seeing Flowers".In 2021 Shii released a single "Night Dive" and a remix track Lifetime (Shii's Security Blanket Remix) for Romy who is known as the lead singer from The xx.

Gouachi is a DJ and a producer based in Shanghai who was born in 2001. Although being so young, she was exposed to art from an early age. At the age of 15, she got the first taste of alternative music. Club music has become the most formative influence in her sound.
You can often catch her sets in underground clubs in Shanghai、Hangzhou、Ningbo、Chengdu、 Shenzhen、Beijing. She has been invited to play at such events as S!LK 、Asian Dope Boys、 LoveBang 、Antigen. And supported international artists such as AirMax97、SegaBodega、 Swing Ting、Tommy Cash、TSVI. Her DJ set is known for its high energy and combining different genres of dance music.

Gouachi is a DJ and a producer based in Shanghai who was born in 2001. Although being so young, she was exposed to art from an early age. At the age of 15, she got the first taste of alternative music. Club music has become the most formative influence in her sound.
You can often catch her sets in underground clubs in Shanghai、Hangzhou、Ningbo、Chengdu、 Shenzhen、Beijing. She has been invited to play at such events as S!LK 、Asian Dope Boys、 LoveBang 、Antigen. And supported international artists such as AirMax97、SegaBodega、 Swing Ting、Tommy Cash、TSVI. Her DJ set is known for its high energy and combining different genres of dance music.

She is the creative origin and visual mastermind of LOVE BANG activities. In recent years, most of LB's tricky ideas have relied on her tornado-like brain activities. She has long been obsessed with image manipulation, tool profanity, image brainwashing and visual effects hypnosis.
