“这是一段可以在睡醒之后，在房间里听的 set。” 为了让大家更了解我们的新制作人 EkII，于是用 DJ mix set 的方式分享他六月底发布的首张 EP《ABYSSAL CALLOUT》的灵感来源：

“午后清醒梦的回声，在房间里日夜颠倒的生活，时常挂着耳机就已经入睡，许多声音、采样、旋律的碎片悄悄进入潜意识，在半梦半醒中记下的片段，后来常常在通勤路上，课堂上，不经意地闪回。我记录下自己的梦境与灵感，并投入到新的创作。这也是新 EP 的雏形和起点。” —— EkII

"This is a set you can play in your room after waking up." To help you get to know our new producer EkII better, we’re sharing a DJ mix set inspired by his debut EP “ABYSSAL CALLOUT”, released at the end of June:

“It’s the echo of lucid dreams in the afternoon — living a life where day and night blur, often falling asleep with headphones on. Bits of sound, samples, and melodies quietly slip into the subconscious. I’d wake up with fragments half-remembered, and later they’d flash back unexpectedly — on the commute, in class. I started writing down my dreams and moments of inspiration, which eventually became the foundation of my new work. That’s how this EP began.” — EkII

Shy People 新制作人 EkII 来自贵阳，同时也是一名爵士鼓手。大学毕业后赴日深造，师从 Dennis Frehse、大坂昌彦、横山和明，就读于昭和音乐大学。旅日期间，他活跃于东京电子与嘻哈音乐场景，曾与 Hiphop 音乐人 Duoble Zhuo 合作单曲“FOOTONFOOT”，并参与 99god 与日本说唱歌手 PAIN 的 remix 单曲“Bodega (Remix)”制作，该曲登上日本 Spotify 当日嘻哈趋势榜，并入选东京电台 Spincoaster 的 Monday Spin 歌单。

首张 EP《ABYSSAL CALLOUT》写于 EkII 的人生低谷，是一次对旧我的摧毁与重构，一次寻找自我声音的旅程。真诚欢迎各位给 Shy People 写来你自己的听后感。

Meet EkII, the newest addition to the Shy People roster.

Born in Guiyang, China, EkII is not only a producer but also a trained jazz drummer. After graduating from university, he moved to Japan to further his musical studies at Showa University of Music, studying under Dennis Frehse, Masahiko Osaka, and Kazuaki Yokoyama.

During his time in Tokyo, EkII became active in the city’s electronic and hip-hop scenes. He collaborated with hip-hop artist Duoble Zhuo on the single “FOOTONFOOT”, and co-produced the remix “Bodega (Remix)” by 99god and Japanese rapper PAIN — a track that climbed Japan’s Spotify Daily Hip-Hop chart and was featured on Tokyo radio Spincoaster’s Monday Spin playlist.

EkII’s debut EP, “ABYSSAL CALLOUT”, was written during one of the lowest points in his life — a sonic journey of self-destruction and reconstruction, and a search for his own voice.
